Tester digipak

This is the front cover of our digipak, we like how it is plain and simple but you can see the genre of our music because of the outfit that Monet is wearing, addidas superstar shoes and Puma jumper which shows the hiphop style. You can also see the genre because of the 'L$D" written on the side and the use of the '$' symbol shows its hiphop characteristics. On our front cover we have the name of our artist and a picture of her as she is the main focal point of our video which is why it is a plain background and her as the main focal image. This also reflects the simplicity of the narrative within the music video which is incorporated into all of our products.

This section is the back of our digipak, we have put all the tracklists on the back of here and used a white text with a blue outline and a red glow to highlight a sort of psychedelic affect. We also have a picture in the background with a psychedelic nature to further enhance the theme of our video. It fits the psychedelic part of the video but also the simplicity of it.
This image shows (from the left image to the right image) the inside picture of the digipak and also the extra panel which has the same image from the back cover but we have included "MB" which are the initials of Monet who is are artist. We will be moving the barcode from this panel to the back panel as you can't see that panel when the whole digipak is closed.
These are the inside panels of the digipak, we have got 2 images of our artists eyes on each side to make it appear like she is looking right at you with smoke in the background to add to the hiphop/psychedelic theme we are trying to portray.  The centre image we may keep the same or make it plain black to keep it simple. We are aware that the images are upside down, this was the mistake that we made as we didn't turn the images upside down, when we redo the tester we will change all the little features.

We think that it is very important to do tester products so that we can see what we need to add and change to get it right and how we want it. With this digipak we have realised that we need to change some features such as the barcode and the panel where the CD will go and also to make sure that we turn the inside panels around so that it isn't upside down when we create the real thing.

our video compared to LSD

2

in todays lesson, i spent it comparing our music video to the original Asap rocky, LSD video to view similarities and differences between the two. We did want to take inspiration from led and use similar effects and narratives but we also incorporated different elements for example different locations and effects. As you can see, in the images 1,2,3,4  they both show similarities with the bright colours and also psychedelic effects.
In pictures 5 and 6, you can also see similarities but different locations. In  this we could have used the similar locations but we decided to mix it up by going to a local park instead of using a high street or a city street.

Then in photos 7,8,9,10, again it can seen that there are similarities apart from, ASAP is seen smoking drugs whereas we are using a vape as it makes it more appropriate .

music album analysis

in todays lesson, we spent it gathering feedback from our target audience on a few hip hop album covers to understand what they see when they look at the albums. This will helps us when creating our digipak as we will have a greater understanding of  what our audience looks for within an album cover to make it more desirable to buy.
